Peter Attia: What if we're wrong about diabetes?
Yesterday I posted a comparison between "The Obesity Code" and "The Calorie Myth" and one of the differences is the view on exercise. "The Obesity Code" takes the view that while there are many excellent reasons to exercise, the role of exercise in weight loss is minimal. Almost 1/3 of "The Calorie Myth" covers exercise and specifically what types of exercise. I have been told for so long that to lose weight I need to "eat less and exercise more" that it's kind of hard to let go of that mindset. But I have learned several reasons as to why exercise is not the key to weight loss. Don't get me wrong I think exercise is fabulous for many other things, it's not that I don't think exercise is good, but as I mentioned in another post yesterday, there are lots of ways I think I have gone wrong in my thinking about exercise. One of the evidences as to why exercise is not the key to weight loss is this guy named Peter Attia. He was exercising about 4 hours a day, he was a long distance swimmer and still he gained weight. I really enjoyed this talk by Peter and maybe some of you will as well. It's only 16 minutes long!
